Seven persons laying water pipelines get electric shock in Dhading

DHADING: As many as seven persons were injured from electric shock when they came in contact with naked wire hung by a pylon through a pipeline in Thakre Rural Municipality-11 of Dhading district on Monday night. The injured have been identified as local residents Dhan Bahadur Karki, Sani Tamang, Niraj Karki, Suresh Gurung, Gopi Gurung and Niki Tamang. The identity of one more injured is yet to be ascertained. The group of local residents got electric shock while laying drinking water pipelines in Mahadevbesi Bazaar, at around 9:30 pm yesterday, according to Mahadevbesi Police Post. The incident occurred as the joined galvanised iron pipeline was being erected in order to lay it underground when suddenly it touched the naked wire attached to a pylon. Meanwhile, Dhana Bahadur and Niraj have been receiving treatment at local Shiva Darashan Hospital while others seriously injured have been sent to a health institution in Kathmandu, police informed. Of the injured, Sani Tamang is said to be in critical condition. The Nepal Electricity Authority, Dhading had cut electric power for an hour following the incident, said police.
