Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has urged the government to formulate the new budget for the upcoming fiscal year incorporating suggestions given by the private sector.
Organising a pre-budget discussion programme today with the officials of Ministry of Finance, NCC said that Nepal can achieve progressive economic growth in the coming years only if the fiscal budget is investors- and business-friendly.
“We are ready to suggest the issues that the fiscal budget should address in maintaining proper business environment in the country. However, we expect the government to hold ample discussions with business sector while bringing in new policies,” said Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, president of NCC.
Addressing the discussion, Revenue Secretary Sishir Kumar Dhungana assured that the government would address every logical and implementable concerns of the private sector in the upcoming fiscal budget. “The new budget will primarily focus on revenue collection and will be based on government's economic growth and development targets,” said Dhungana, adding that the government will consult with the private sector in policy formation and partner in development process.
