Kathmandu, April 27 The government today decided to recommend to the president to call the budget session of the Parliament at 4:00pm on May 6. Spokesperson for the Parliament Secretariat Bharat Raj Gautam said the budget session of the Parliament would be busy, as lawmakers would discuss the government’s policy and programmes, and hold pre-budget discussion to pass the budget before June 29. As per the constitutional provision, the government must present the new fiscal budget in the Parliament on May 29. Gautam said the budget session would also have to deal with other key issues, including enactment of business rules for the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. Gautam said the budget session would also have to pass or reject ordinances brought by the government and enact some key laws that had to be enacted within three years of the promulgation of the constitution. The government has not yet enacted laws necessary to implement some of the fundamental rights. The constitution stipulates that some fundamental rights be implemented after enacting laws within three years. According to Minister of State for Information and Communications Gokul Baskota, the government also appointed Joint Attorney Rama Devi Parajuli as member of Foreign Employment Tribunal.
