Both countries' development slogans are complementary: Indian PM Modi

KATHMANDU: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has committed to fully supporting the aspirations of all Nepalis for making an indivisible, prosperous and robust Nepal. Addressing a joint media conference after the bilateral meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Indian PM Modi said that India's company and support would be for Nepal's economic, social and cultural development. Saying that his government in India has forwarded the slogan of 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas' (collective efforts, inclusive growth), Modi added that the slogan of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' forwarded by Prime Minister KP Sharma in Nepal are complementary to one other. The Indian PM said that Nepal-India relations are above the government and the bilateral relations at the peoples' level is deep and friendly. He said, 'My visit to Nepal is held in such a historical time when Nepal held three layers of elections successfully. This period would be written in golden letters in Nepal's history.' He also said that his third visit to Nepal after his premiership has also proved the deep relations of his and India to Nepal. Likewise, Prime Minister Modi said that intensive discussions were held regarding the development potentials of two countries during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's recent visit to India. He added that actions have been initiated in some issues after the discussions in common issues of Nepal and India during the short period of time. 'The bilateral works on agriculture, railway and waterways have been initiated,' and added that such agreements would help promote the businesses of both the country's people. Modi said, 'Nepal is not a landlocked nation. Rather is should be linked via land and water transportation. India would make commitment for the best possible support to translate PM Oli's vision.' Likewise, Modi also announced to provide a Bhabhatron Radio Therapy Machine, a machine developed by Indian scientists for cancer treatment, for the treatment of cancer patients in Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital. Similarly, in the joint press meet, Modi said that the 900MW Arun-III Hydropower Project would open up economic and commercial avenues as well as the employment opportunities. The Indian PM also said that maximum efforts are ongoing to link through railways, waterways, transmission line and pipeline.
