Dhangadi, July 6 Kailali Police today made public five persons held in connection with the gang rape and killing of a woman in Gauriganga Municipality, Kailali. The suspects have been identified as Ganesh Baduwal, 30, Manoj Bogati, 27, Suraj Chaudhary, 21, Bhuwan Khati 20, and Tapendra Bogati, 19, of Gauriganga Municipality-11 of the district. They were paraded at a press meet at District Police Office, Kailali. Body of Maya BK, 21, was recovered from a Charparthali Community Forest on June 29 after she went missing for three days. “The suspects have admitted that they gang-raped and then murdered the woman,” said Chief of DPO, Kailali,  SP Binod Ghimire. BK had been serving as a social mobiliser at Gauriganga Municipality. Baduwal and Chaudhary were her colleagues. Preliminary investigation shows that Baduwal, Chaudhary and BK were returning from their field through a forest after work when they raped and murdered her. Her kin had filed a complaint with  police after Maya went missing on June 28. The five suspects were arrested from different places on different dates in the course of investigation.
