PM Oli directs TU officials to prepare human resource plan

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the office bearers of Tribhuvan University to bring forth a human resource plan in line with country's resolution of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis'.

Addressing the senate meeting and programme organised on the occasion of 59th anniversary of Tribhuvan University today, PM Oli directed the TU officials to make systematic plan to produce necessary human resources for country's development and prosperity, and provide affiliation to the colleges accordingly.

Also the Chancellor of TU, PM Oli shared that a profile on the need of human resources was prepared by the National Planning Commission and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. According to the prime minister, TU is required to make the education technical and research oriented so that it would help in materialising the country's resolution for prosperity. Colleges could not be run like retail shops, but with systematic plan and management, he argued.

On the occasion, Pro-Chancellor of TU and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel highlighted the need to prepare technical human resources by the university.

Likewise, Vice-Chancellor Tirtharaj Khaniya argued that TU made 80 per cent contribution to the country's higher education. Registrar Dilliram Upreti shared that a total of 73,901 TU graduates from various faculties were attending the upcoming convocation ceremony.

Meanwhile, a separate meeting was required with TU office bearers to discuss the problems at the university and their solutions.
