He began his 15th hunger strike on June 30 after he found that the Bill registered in the parliament was lacking provisions of the National Medical Education Ordinance introduced by the former government led by Sher Bahadur Deuba. Dr KC had demanded that the government withdraw the Bill from parliament and incorporate provisions of the ordinance in the Bill. It has been expected that talks between the government team and Dr KC's representatives could reach an agreement today. It had ended inconclusively yesterday. The agitating doctors, on Wednesday, had forwarded a 22-point demand during the talks with government officials. However, the officials said that amendments could not be made to the National Medical Education Bill as per Dr KC's demands.
