Two held with huge cache of contraband drugs

KATHMANDU: Two youths have been arrested in possession of various controlled pharmaceutical drugs from assorted locations in Kaski district, police said. Police on suspicion frisked 19-year-old Seshkanta Tharu, who was sitting at a restaurant, and recovered contraband drugs -- 180 ampules each of Nurofen, Diazepam and Phenergan from his possession. Similarly, police also arrested 19-year-old Krishna Pariyar of Pokhara-29 with contraband drugs from Waling Municipality-8 in Syangja district. According to police, Pariyar was travelling to Pokhara from Sunuwali before police intercepted a bus (Lu 1 Kha 5880) at Waling Bazaar during a routine security check. Police seized controlled pharmaceutical drugs -- Phenergan, Nurofen, Diazepam of 25 ampules each from his possession. Meanwhile, police said they are looking into both the cases.
