Province 5 govt, Chinese team discuss feasibility of mono rail

BUTWAL: The Province 5 government has held a discussion with a Chinese delegation on the feasibility of a mono rail in Lumbini. Chief Minister Shankar Pokhrel and the team from Chinese Railway Company held the talks on the feasibility of Ramgram-Lumbini-Kapilvastu mono rail under the Buddha circuit. After the meeting, Chief Minister Pokharel said there was a huge potential of tourism in Lumbini and the government has given priority to the construction of mono rail. The Chinese team has been told to hold further talks with the province planning commission and Lumbini Development Trust. During the meeting, General Manager of Nepal Branch of China Overseas Group under China Railway International Group Wang Yu and Economist of China Railway International Group Yang Kwang and other members were present. General Manager Wang expressed commitment to move ahead by holding consultations with the province government regarding the feasibility of monorail in Buddha Circuit. The Chinese team also made its presentation on the feasibility of monorail in Lumbini.
