KATHMANDU: Kathmandu valley taxi drivers will put on fluorescent jackets atop their clothes, as a mandatory dress code from now on. According to Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, the provision for compulsory fluorescent jacket which can be spotted from a distance, even in the dark, has come into effect today. A month's time has been allotted for all the taxi drivers to procure the jackets and adhere to the dress-code. The Valley Traffic, amid an event held at Sundhara today, announced the commencement of the provision. The dress-code will not only ensure discipline among the cab drivers, it will also guarantee rider's safety, according to the police. Taxi drivers across the country will gradually have to adopt the 'uniform' soon.
