Dhangadi, September 17 Parliamentarians in Province 7 have criticised the provincial government for failing to bring to book the murderer(s) of Nirmala Panta, 13, of Kanchanpur’s Bhimdatta Municipality who was raped and murdered. Speaking at yesterday’s Provincial Assembly meeting, both the ruling and opposition PA members drew the attention of the province government to the incident and criticised it for failure to bring to book the culprit. Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Ratan Bahadur Thapa accused the government of showing lack of seriousness towards the incident. “Instead of hunting down the culprit, the police administration is trying to protect those involved in the crime, which is unfortunate.” Nepali Congress lawmakers accused the provincial government of harassing the innocent rather than booking the culprits. “Though the police chief himself has assured the victim’s family of justice, the family hasn’t got justice,” said NC lawmaker Govind Bohara. “In fact, the province government isn’t serious about the incident and shows its utter irresponsibility.” READ ALSO:
