The Armed Police Force (APF) has seized mobile phone parts and related goods worth more than Rs 5 million from a house in Gaur Municipality-4, Rautahat.
Acting on special tip-off, an APF team comprising 45 personnel led by Superintendent of Police Chet Raj Joshi conducted a raid at around 1:00am at the residence of local trader Bhola Saha on Tuesday night.
According to the APF, the goods were allegedly brought into Nepal from the Indian market through an unauthorized border crossing without customs clearance and stored at the house.
During the raid, security personnel recovered various mobile phone parts, accessories and related electronic goods, which the APF valued at Rs 5.0145 million.
The team also seized two motorcycles from the premises.
SP Joshi said the confiscated goods and motorcycles have been handed over to the Gaur Customs Office for further investigation and legal action.
The APF has launched a broader investigation to identify the source of the goods, the route through which they entered Nepal, and individuals involved in their transportation and storage.
According to officials, the house was unoccupied during the raid, and the goods were recovered unattended. Authorities said further investigation would determine ownership of the seized items and establish any criminal liability.
