Journalist Humagain no more

KATHMANDU: Founder editor of the vernacular weekly ‘Nepalbhoomi’, Ram Chandra Humagain, passed away at Senior Citizens Care Home in Sanepa, Lalitpur at 3:50 pm on Sunday. He was 65.

Humagain, also a litterateur, was suffering from liver disease. He was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat crematorium the same day.

Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary Maoist) politburo member Pawan Man Shrestha, All Nepal People’s Cultural Federation president Ishwar Chandra Gyawali, Nepal National University Teachers Organisation president Jagadish Chandra Bhandari, among others, had reached the Aryaghat to pay final tributes to the late Humagain.

Humagain is survived by a son and a daughter. He was the central advisor of Revolutionary Journalists Federation and the Federation’s Kathmandu district coordinator.

Federation president Indra Raut and Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ)-Kathmandu president Shanta Ram Bidari have issued separate condolence statements, paying tributes to the late Humagain and extending heartfelt sympathy to members of his family.
