• Minister Gyawali requested NRNs to act as goodwill ambassadors of Nepal

Kathmandu, November 18 Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has urged non-resident Nepalis to partner with the government for economic development of the country. Speaking at an interaction ‘Nepal-Japan Diplomatic Relations’ in Tokyo today, he shed light on the latest political developments and priorities of the present government and called on the non-resident Nepalis to promote investment, transfer of technology and skills in Nepal’s priority sectors. According to a press release issued by Nepali Embassy in Tokyo, Minister Gyawali also requested the non-resident Nepalis to act as the goodwill ambassador for the promotion of Nepal in Japan. On the occasion, Ambassador of Nepal to Japan Prativa Rana, President of Non-Resident Nepali Association Bhawan Bhatta, Non-resident Nepali Association Asia Pacific Coordinator Kiran Bikram Thapa and President of NRN NCC Japan Tashi Wangdi Lama also delivered their remarks. Similarly, Ministry Gyawali attended a welcome reception-dinner programme hosted by Ambassador Rana and highlighted the purpose and importance of his official visit to Japan. He expressed his belief that the visit would contribute to further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries and exploring new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit. Minister Gywali  thanked the government of Japan for its assistance in socio-economic development of Nepal. Also on the occasion, Tadahiko Ito, Member of the House of Representatives and Deputy Secretary of Japan-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship League, stressed on the need of increased parliamentary exchanges between the two countries and assured his full support to further expand and deepen bilateral cooperation between Nepal and Japan. The foreign minister arrived in Tokyo this morning at the invitation of Japanese Minister of  Foreign Affairs of Taro Kono.
