Two dead in separate accidents in Sarlahi

SARLAHI :Two people, including an Indian national, died in separate accidents in Sarlahi district on Monday.

The Indian national has been identified as Shyam Sundar Thakur, 50, of Ghurghura Bela Tol at Sombarsa Gram Panchayat in Sitamarhi district of Indian State of Bihar.

Thakur died on the spot as he fell off some 20 feet from an under-construction chimney at a brick kiln belonging to Pramod Chaudhary of Bishnu Rural Municipaliy-5 in Sarlahi district in Sarlahi, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Sarlahi.

Meanwhile, an elderly died after being knocked down by a tractor at Barhathawa in the district. Harka Bahadur Sarki, 82, of Barahathawa Municipality-9 was hit by a tractor with the registration no Na 6 Ta 9845. He died during treatment at the Primary Health Centre at Barahathawa, police said.

Police have impounded the vehicle and taken the tractor driver into custody.
