Two houses gutted in Mirchaiya

Siraha, December 22 At least two houses were reduced to ashes while one house was damaged in a fire at Mirchaiya Municipality in Siraha  last night. Police said that property worth Rs 10 lakh was gutted in the fire that started around 10:00pm yesterday. The fire lit by KuleshworYadav, a local, to get rid of mosquito spread and engulfed the houses. Yadav said utensils, food grains, clothes, among other things, were completely destroyed in the fire. He also informed that two buffaloes and an ox were also burnt to death. The locals complained that they had called the fire engine right after the incident took place. However, it did not arrive on time. Mayor Shrawan Kumar Yadav said the fire engine was sent to the incident site just after they got information, but was returned after they got information that the fire had been brought under control.  Mayor Yadav said food, clothes, tents, among other things, would be provided to the fire victims as immediate relief.
