DHANKUTA: Locals started an agitation with the demand that Dhankuta be made the permanent capital of Province 1 from Sunday. The agitation kicked off with the beginning of winter session of the Provincial Assembly, to press the PA to make Dhankuta the permanent headquarters of the province. Campaign Coordinator Sundarbabu Shrestha said they had commenced the agitation as the winter session would fix the name and headquarters of the province. As part of the agitation, a protest rally was taken out in Dhankuta bazaar on Sunday. Civil Society members and locals participated in the rally. “Protests will be held everyday until Dhankuta is fixed as the provincial capital,” coordinator Shrestha said.
