SARLAHI: A youth was shot dead by an unidentified group in Malangawa, district headquarters of Sarlahi last night.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Yadav (31) of Malangawa Municipality-8, according to District Police Office, Sarlahi. He was found dead near cold storage in ward-8 of the municipality by locals, who informed the police about the same this morning. Police have recovered bullet shells from the incident site.

Yadav had reportedly left home last night at around 9:00 p.m after receiving a phone call, according to his sister.

An investigation has been launched while a search is underway to find those behind the incident, informed Superintendent of Police of Sarlahi Ganesh Chandra Bhattarai.
