Lamjung, March 8 Incessant snowfall has obstructed vehicular movement along different road sections for a long time in Manang. Prolonged snowfall has obstructed vehicular movement along the Danakyu-Chame road, said Acting CDO Jayaraj Bhandari. He said work on opening the road was under way. “Authorities are facing dificulties clearing the roads as the snow has not melted,” said Bhandari. DSP Nil Kamal Acharya said it might take a month for the snow to melt fully. Snowfall also damaged a micro hydropower project disrupting power supply. Annapurna Conservation Area Project tourism assistant Kshetra Gurung said roads were obstructed in the upper Manang area ever since snowfall started in the area one-and-a-half-months ago. The snow from Lamjung’s border area Dharapani up to Danakyu, however, has melted. Locals say that the district has been receiving heavy snowfall.
