Rafting gaining popularity

Bajura, March 24 Domestic and international tourists have started thronging the banks of the Karnali River after rafting came into operation in the river at Pilichaur of Swamikartik Khaper Rural Municipality, Bajura. The rural municipality had started rafting in the river with the aim of boosting income of the rural municipality along with the promotion of tourism. Rural municipality Chair Chiranjibi Shahi said Pilichaur had become a centre of attraction after rafting became operational. Shahi said the rural municipality had bought rafting boats. Acting Executive Officer of the rural municipality said the area would be recognised as a tourist destination and sources of income would increase once rafting started on the river. Meanwhile, the rural municipality will be preparing criteria for the operation of rafting service. The rural municipality said it aimed to continue the service to facilitate tourists’ access to rafting. The rural municipality is also preparing to offer the service via ticketing system. Similarly, accommodation will be provided to tourists in Pilichaur and more rafts will be added as per the need.
