KATHMANDU: Nepal's league champions Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh's Abahani Limited Dhaka during AFC Cup at ANFA Complex ground in Satdobato of Lalitpur on Wednesday. Visiting team's Masih Saighani scored the solitary goal in the 28th minute of the first half to stun the hosts MMC today. Despite holding more than 64 per cent possession and mustering a total of 18 shots in the opposition post, MMC slumped to defeat in their opening group fixture of the competition. MMC are pitted in Group E along with India's Chennaiyin FC, Minerva Punjab, and Bangladesh's Abahani Dhaka. In their next fixture, MMC will travel to India to play against Chennaiyin FC at the Arena in Ahmedabad.
