Adjustment of civil servants paralyses local bodies

Dhangadi, April 26 With the adjustment of civil servants, local levels are facing shortage of employees in Kailali district. This has affected daily functioning of many local bodies in the district. Local representatives said new staffers following adjustment were yet to arrive while the old ones left creating a vacuum at the local level. Chief administrative officer and employees of various departments, including ward secretaries, were transferred from local levels as per the adjustment programme, in Kailali. Chure Rural Municipality Chair Dhan Bahadur Rokamagar said staff from his office were deputed to other places but those transferred to his office were yet to arrive. “Account section was without staff,” he added. Kailari Rural Municipality Chair Lajuram Chaudhary said they were having a tough time as employees were transferred at the time of making payment and implementing projects. “We are facing a hard time in budget allocation and payment,” rued Chaudhary.
