HETAUDA: Two vehicles have been torched in Makawanpur district today after Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) called for a nationwide bandh. A mini-truck (Na 7 Kha 9493) was burnt down at Chaukitole in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-1 along the Tribhuvan Highway. The parked truck was set on fire around 1:00 am today near the police post in the area. The vehicle has been completely destroyed in the incident. Likewise, a bus was burnt in Khani Gaun, Thaha Municipality-1 in northern Makawanpur. According to Spokesperson at Makawanpur District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yagya Prasad Bhattarai, the bus (Na 6 Kha 8007) was discovered in a burnt-down state. Previously, two vehicles had been burnt in Thaha municipal area when Biplav-led CPN had called a bandh. Meanwhile, a pressure cooker bomb has been defused near Buddha Chowk in Hetauda. According to Makawanpur Police, the bomb disposal unit of Nepal Army disabled the explosive device at 5:00 in the morning. The effects of the bandh have been felt around the country after multiple blasts in assorted locations of the capital city claimed four lives yesterday.
