Three Biplav-led NCP cadres held with arms in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: Police on Thursday arrested three cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) on the charge of carrying out an arson attack on the ward office of Chandrapur Municipality-3 on Wednesday night. In a press meet today at the Area Police Office, Chandrapur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kabi Katwal said, three Biplav-led NCP cadres, torched ward office and destroyed computer, laptops, printer, furniture on the eve of Nepal bandha called by the party. DSP Katwal identified the arrestees as Rehan Tamang, 30, aka Ram Bahadur Ghising of Chandrapur Municipality-4, Man Bahadur Waiba,35, and Reb Prasad Mainali of Gaidatar in the district. Police also made them public and displayed seized arms and ammunition at the DPO this afternoon. 'After detailed investigation and house search of the suspects, police arrested them along with arms and ammunitions, socket bomb, bullets, political documents among others,' DSP Katwal shared. During the raid, police also seized one automatic Chinese pistol, muzzleloader, eight rounds of bullets from Ram Bahadur Ghising's house, according to police. It has been learnt that the trio were associated with Biplav-outfit for a long time. Meanwhile, police are preparing to file various cases against the trio as per the Muluki Ain.
