Three persons held with illegal drugs in Nawalpur

NAWALPUR: Police arrested three persons in possession of a huge cache of controlled pharmaceutical drugs from assorted locations in Nawalpur district, on Sunday. According to District Police Office, Nawalpur, two alleged drug smugglers -- Chunmun Mullaha, 34, of Omartiya Rural Municipality-4 in Rupandehi district and Jitney KC Karki, 40, of Pokhara Municipality-21 in Kaski district -- were arrested during a routine security check at Faram Chowk in Devchuli Municipality-16. Police seized a huge cache of drugs -- Nurphin, Phenergan and Diazepam -- 60 ampules of each hidden under a seat of a Tata Sumo (Lu Aa Aa 4253) that they were travelling in. Likewise, police also arrested Bishal Thapa, 23, of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 in Gorkha district in possession of the contraband from Tinghare Chowk in Kawasoti Municipality-16 while searching a passenger bus. Subsequently, police recovered 200 ampules each of Nurphin, Phenergan and Diazepam. Meanwhile, further investigation is underway, according to police.
