Pokhara, August 20 Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal today said Nepal police was able to maintain law and order in the country. Inaugurating the newly-constructed building of Federal Police Unit Office, Pokhara, IGP Khanal claimed Nepal police’s reputation was excellent in checking and controlling crime in the world. He said law breakers would be brought to book immediately. He, however, admitted that his organisation was facing difficulty in controlling cyber crime. Khanal stressed the need to use technology for maintaining peace and harmony. He commented that police campaign ‘service with smile’ launched in the past had been ineffective. He, however, stated that the latest police campaign of community-police partnership had become effective. Khanal said Nepal police was ready to provide security to the Lakeside round-the-clock as Pokhara was a major tourism hub. The two-and-a-half storeyed building was built at a cost of Rs 28 million.
