Fire at Birgunj-based drinking water industry destroys property worth millions

BIRGUNJ: A huge fire broke out today at a drinking water industry in Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa district. Om Sai Drinking Water Industry, operated by Prem Jha and located near the old water tank at Adarsha Nagar in Birgunj-10, was caught into flames. Preliminary investigation shows that the cause of fire could be a short-circuit but it has not been confirmed yet. The fire that broke out around 8:00 in the morning was brought under control three hours later with the help of Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, locals and a fire engine from Birgunj Metropolis. The fire has completely damaged the industry, which has incurred a loss of about Rs 30 million, shared Jha. Further investigation into the incident is going on.
