Contraband garments, illegal fireworks seized in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Police in Saptari district seized ready-made garments and fireworks in Hanumannangar Kankalni Municipality-11, on Sunday night. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tilak Bharati at Saptari District Police Office (DPO), police seized contraband readymade garments worth Rs 40,000. He said, when a man transporting the contraband goods from India encountered a patrol team deployed from Sakhuwa-based police post, suddenly, he threw the goods and fled the scene. Meanwhile, the contraband goods have been kept at Hanumannangar-based Area Police Office. In a separate incident, police confiscated fireworks hidden at Neta Chowk in Rajbiraj Municipality-4 of the district the same night. The seized fireworks worth Rs 150,000 have been kept at the DPO. Meanwhile, further investigation into the cases is underway, police said.
