Excavator driver arrested for Bara ancient statue theft

BARA: An excavator driver has been arrested for stealing an ancient statue dug up from a pit in Simraungadh Municipality-3 in Bara district, on Friday. The arrestee, Navin Ram (31) of Barahathwa Municipality-13 in Sarlahi district, was made public in press meet on Saturday. According to police, Navin Ram driver of the excavator (Na 1 Ka 5202), made off with the statue he had found while he was excavating to make a pond at Nayaktole. Police started the investigation after the statue went missing the same day and recovered the idol from the possession of the driver, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjit Singh Rathore at Bara Police. Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, informed DSP Rathore.
