KATHMANDU: Former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has filed an appeal at the Patan High Court challenging the decision of Kathmandu District Court to send him to custody on attempt-to-rape charges. Challenging the district court's decision announced by a single bench of Justice Sudarsan Raj Pandey to send Mahara behind the bars, the former speaker of the House of Representatives has taken his case to Patan High Court today. Earlier, a staffer at the Parliament Secretariat had filed a first information report on October 4, accusing Mahara of attempting to rape her on September 29 at her rented apartment in Tinkune, Kathmandu.
