KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar, today afternoon. They carried out discussions on enhancing economic cooperation, including trade, investments, tourism, transfer of technology, and continuing European Union's support to Nepal. During the meeting, PM Oli urged Luxembourg's Foreign Minister to encourage investment in Nepal as conducive environment for the same had been created after promulgation of the new constitution. Foreign Minister Asselborn stated that they were ready to work with Nepal in the areas of common interest. Minister Asselborn who had arrived yesterday morning in Kathmandu for a two-day official visit of Nepal also met with Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali for bilateral talks, yesterday. During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed a wide range of matters of mutual interest. Nepal appreciated Luxembourg for the cooperation extended to Nepal through various channels including the EU framework. Luxembourg and Nepal have long been cooperating in the Scout movement. The ministers also exchanged views on matters of regional and global importance, including climate change, connectivity and migrant workers. They also agreed to continue collaborating in the multilateral forums on shared agendas. Foreign Minister Asselborn is scheduled to return home today. READ ALSO:
