THT Impact: Ailing Bajura woman receives aid and treatment

BAJURA: Lalsara Devi BK of Nawaghar, Budhiganga Municipality-5 has been provided with necessary health services at Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. It was after the news of her ailment and lack of resources for treatment got published in the national daily 'The Himalayan Times' that she has finally received care. Nepal Healthcare Equipment Development Foundation (NHEDF) Kathmandu is supporting BK. Chair of NHEDF, Samrat Singh Basnet, shared that the Foundation brought her to Kathmandu and the hospital is currently providing the treatment she requires. Basnet said that BK has a tumour in her uterus and that the infection has spread to her liver as well. Further tests and investigation are going on. Local Hikmat Thapa shared that many individuals have also provided support from various places. An anonymous non-resident Nepali from New Zealand provided financial support of Rs 46,500; Rs 10,000 was received from Shanti Sewa Griha, Kathmandu; and Rs 5,000 from officer at National Information Commission Kamala Oli. Thapa said this is a huge support from people.
