NSJF ready to host Pulsar Sports Award virtually

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 10 The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum is organising the Pulsar Sports Award at the International Sports Complex on Tuesday and the organisers said the finals preparations were on full swing for the 17th edition of the much-awaited event. “The preparations are on final stages and we are all set to host the prestigious award,” said the NSJF in a release. “As we need to follow the health protocols imposed by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, we are holding the event virtually for the first time. We will not be able to invite the sports fraternity at the venue this time around unlike previous editions where thousands of sports lovers used to attend the event,” the release added. The NSJF said the stakeholders and sports fraternity would be able to enjoy the award from their homes. “The invitees will join us for the programme through Zoom meet, while the audience and fans can enjoy the event through four television channels — Nepal TV Plus, Action Sports, Image Channel and Janata TV,” informed the NSJF. “We will also screen the programme at the digital display board at the United World Trade Centre in Tripureshwor, while various online portals will also telecast the programme.” The Award features 10 categories — Player of the Year (male), Player of the Year (female), Player of the Year (youth), Coach of the Year, People’s Choice, Team of the Year, Para-athlete of the Year, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and International Sports Journalist Award. Winners in four categories — male, female, coach and people’s choice — will get a Pulsar motorcycle each, while other winners will get Rs 50,000 apiece apart from gift hampers from Dish Home and Kelme Nepal. Hansraj Hulaschand and Company is the main sponsor of the event, while Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, Dish Media Network Limited, Royal Singi Hotel, Turkish Airlines, Kelme Nepal, Ruslan Football, Emaging, Hotel Crown Plaza, eSewa, Ministry of Youth and Sports, NSC and NOC are the co-sponsors and partners.
