People in thousands take out rallies in Russia supporting Navalny

KATHMANDU: People from across Russia took to streets in snowy weather in support of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny demanding his release during the Saturday protest. An estimated 40,000 people braved the streets where police charged heavily upon them to break the rallies. In Moscow alone, police detained 1,100 people whoop more than 3,000 people were arrested across the country.

Meanwhile, a video of people showering snow upon the police showed the intensity of the current scenario in Russia.
