Kathmandu, July 9 :

With a view to composing a new national anthem that suits the changed scenario of the country, the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Baneshwor Campus unit, is organising a National Anthem poem competition.

“A series of interactions and discussions has been held with culture experts, media personnel, students and people from various walks of life,” said Nabina Lama, the chairman of the Free Students’ Union, Baneswor Campus.

“The new national anthem should reflect the diversity of culture, various languages, religion and caste,” Lama said, adding, “All should feel proud to sing it and should feel that it is their own song rather than a song of a certain group.”

All 14 zonal ANNFSU committees have been mobilised for the purpose. The last date for the submission of the poem is August 14.
