King receives yagyopavita

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Janaipurnima day, King Gyanendra received the nutan yagyopavita or new sacred thread at the auspicious hour of 10:51 am, at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace, on Wednesday. On the occasion, King Gyanendra was sprinkled with holy water amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns. — RSS

KATHMANDU: The Higher Secondary Education Council Employees Union is to conduct various protest programmes from August 11 since the management has “remained indifferent” towards their demands which were already submitted.
