The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has welcomed the government’s decision to provide multiple entry visas valid for five years to foreigners coming to Nepal and buying Nepali products for export or giving purchase orders for export, with a proviso that they can stay for a maximum of 90 days at one time.

Issuing a press release today, NCC welcomed the government’s move towards encouraging exports, which has been dipping precariously for the last few years. Visa procedures for the foreign importers buying Nepali products should be simplified, states the release.

Ministry of industry, commerce and supply (MOICS) on Wednesday introduced the provision taking into consideration the suggestions of foreign importers and Nepali entrepreneurs and the export potential.

A decision has also been taken for the department of immigration to issue such visas on request by the products association concerned and the recommendation of the department of commerce. Provision has also been made for visa renewal on the basis of the efficiency of the visa holder.
