Inmates threaten to wreck Kapilvastu jail

Kapilvastu, August 29 :

Inmates at the Kapilvastu jail today warned they would vandalise the jail if the five prisoners, who fled the prison on Wednesday and were arrested yesterday, were kept in the prison along with them.

Of the six prisoners, who fled after digging a tunnel, five were arrested in Palpa. They are being kept in the Kapilvastu jail for the time being. One of the prisoners, Chotelal Sahani, threatened the prisoners would vandalise the jail if the administration made attempts to keep them with the five prisoners. “We are keeping the five prisoners in the jail for the time being,” said CDO Narendra Dahal.

Meanwhile, a probe panel interrogated the rearrested prisoners, namely Narayan Bishwokarma, Dinesh BK, Atish Rai, Surya Pariyar and Aite Pariyar today.

“They told us others were not involved in the jailbreak,” said coordinator of the committee and assistant CDO, Janakraj Regmi. Prisoner Tek Bahadur Thapa dug up the tunnel, the rearrested prisoners said, regretting the escape bid.
