Kathmandu, September 9 :
The Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB) has not received a single complaint of theft in the last six days. “We have not received a single complaint of theft for almost a week,” Keshav Adhikari, Superintendent of Police at the VCIB, Hanumandhoka said.
Adhikari attributed the decrease of cases of thefts to the heightened security in the Valley. “More security personnel from different security wings have been deployed in the Valley in recent days and the VCIB is also pro-active these days,” he said. He said recent arrests of persons “involved in many criminal activities including theft and looting” is also a major cause behind the improved situation. The VCIB record shows that the office used to receive two complaints of thefts every day before.
