Kathmandu, November 2:
The United British Gurkha Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Nepal, (UBGEAN) told a press meet today that it will resume protest programmes from November 11 if its demands are not met.
It termed the “discretionary provisions” introduced for those applying for temporary citizenship, Indefinite Leave to Entry (ILE), impractical.
The servicemen, who retired before July 1997, and their offspring must abide by the discretionary provisions while applying for the ILE.
The UBGEAN said it had written to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, detailing its demands.
