Qatar Airways to expand international network

Kathmandu, November 12:

Qatar Airways is all set to expand its international network by adding seven new routes in 2007 to mark 10 years of its operation.

“From Europe and Africa to Asia and, for the first time, North America, Qatar Airways will add seven key cities to its route network in the next 12 months,” said the airline in a statement. The airline will expand its network to Nigeria’s commercial centre of Lagos from January 3 next year followed by Tanzania’s capital Dar Es Salaam. The Qatar Airways will begin flying to Bali in March.

“Vietnam is also on the horizon when Ho Chi Minh City is set to become yet another destination in Qatar Airways’ Asian portfolio next March,” the statement said. The airline is also planning to operate on Doha-New York sector from 2007 summer.

The airways will fly to new points in Northern Europe and eastern Europe in the second half of 2007.

The airline launched its operation in 1994. It now covers 70 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia including Nepal with an existing fleet of 51 aircraft.
