Galaxy thrash Holy Vision; Budhanilkantha triumph

Lalitpur, December 16:

Galaxy thrashed Holy Vision by 128 runs and Budhanilkantha defeated Gyanodaya by one wicket at the third Shree SNB Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament, which has been organised by AVM Higher Seconday School, here at the Institute of Engineering grounds today.

In the first match, Ashray Piya hammered a century as Galaxy scored a massive 211/2 in 25 overs. Piya hit 22 fours and a six in his 78-ball 118, while Prabin Agrawal scored 39 off 34 balls including seven fours.

For Holy Vision, Sachin Chanchan and Saurav GC took one wicket each. In reply, Holy Vision could muster just 83 runs in 18.3 overs. Chanchan top-scored for his team with 19 runs, while Bijay Manandhar and Brajesh Tuladhar scored 13 runs each.

For Galaxy, Sachin Thapa took four wickets conceding just five runs in three overs, while Diviz Bhandari pocketed 3-10. Piya, who returned 2-20 after scoring a century, was named the man of the match.

In the second match, Gyanodaya scored 117 runs losing eight wickets in 25 overs. Prakash Ghimire top-scored with 27, while Adishree Basnet and Ritesh Karna made 19 and 18 respectively.

For Budhanilkantha, Rajashwi Pratap Sen took 3-25 and was supported by Pratik Singh (2-27) and Nabin Yadav (2-20). In reply, Budhanilkantha reached the target losing nine wickets in 24 overs.

Binit Shrestha scored 27-ball 25, while Dipak Shah made 11 off 20 balls. For Gyanodaya, Prakash Ghimire took 3-16, while Suhell Manandhar and Nusan Shrestha pocketed two wickets each. Binit Shrestha of Budhanilkantha was named the man of the match.

On Sunday, St Xavier’s will take on GCA and Loyala will play against Brihaspati.
