KATHMANDU: Rato Bangala defeated Little Angels’ 22-10 in the girls’ section match at the sixth Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament. Hosts Brihaspati beat Rara Hill ‘B’ 19-7 and LRI edged past Rato Bangala 21-10 in the mini-boys’ section. — HNS
United table tennis
KATHMANDU: United School is organising the third Inter-school Valley-wide Table Tennis Tournament from December 21-24. About 350 students from 50 schools of Kathmandu Valley will fight for the championships in 13 different events, the organisers said at a press meet today. — HNS

KATHMANDU: GEMS defeated Regina Emoris 2-1 in the 11th Father Moran Inter-school Invitational Football Tournament. In other matches, Ideal Model edged past Machhapuchhre 1-0 while Little Angels’ and St Xavier’s (Jawalakhel) played a 1-1 draw, and CPS thrashed LRI 5-0. — HNS
Tennis court opens
KATHMANDU: Hotel Shangri-la Kathmandu inaugurated the tennis court at its premises in Lazimpat today. Shyam Bahadur Pandey, the chairman of the hotel inaugurated the court. The opening was followed by a friendly match between Pandey and Manoj Rana, president of the All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association. — HNS
