Kathmandu, December 19:
Adarsha Vidya Mandir (AVM) and Greenland Children Academy (GCA) advanced to the semi-finals of the third Shree SNV Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament today. Hosts AVM defeated DAV by 54 runs and GCA beat Brihaspati Viday Sadan by eight wickets.
AVM scored 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets after electing to bat first. Dipson Baskota top scored with 39 runs for AVM while Indra Kamal Manandhar contributed valuable 27 runs for AVM . Avishek Sinha claimed four wickets for DAV.
Chasing the 137-run target, DAV were bowled out for 82 runs in 17.1 overs. Mahendra Raghav scored 34 runs for DAV. Ishan Timalasina claimed three wickets while Anil Bajracharya and Dipson Baskota took two wickets each for AVM. Dipson was adjudged the man of the match for his allround performance.
In the second game, Brihaspati scored 100 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 22 overs. Sumit Dhowj Chand was the leading scorer with 26 runs for Brihaspati. Manish Gurung bagged three wickets for GCA.
In reply, GCA chased the total in the 17th over for the loss of two wickets. Krishan Lama made 33 and Sushil Karki chipped in 18 runs in GCA win. Sumit and Subin Pradhan took one wicket each for Brihaspati. AVM will take on Little Angels’ and GCA will face Budhanilkantha in semi-finals on Wednesday.
