Kailali, December 19:

The Taalbandh (Kailali)-based main camp of the seventh division of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is equipped with gadgets that keep the Maoists connected with the rest of the world.

Dish antenna was installed in the camp on Saturday, commander of the seventh division of the PLA, Projjawal, said yesterday.

“We take communication as a basic necessity. Through the means of communication, we get to know about changes taking place in the world,” said Projjwal.

National and local newspapers have been made available in the camp, Projjawal said, adding that dish antennas will be installed in sub-camps as well.

Taalbandh is devoid of electricity, but the PLA personnel watch television as a generator is run to supply power. PLA personnel said they not only watch television but also read newspapers. However, the PLA personnel bar journalists from entering the camp.

They have hanged signboards that read “Entrance is prohibited” outside the camp. Due to the restriction, journalists who arrived here recently from the capital had to return without visiting the camp. “Most of the journalists disseminate false news, we restricted their entry into the camp,” Projjwal said.
