‘Hospital for the poor’ inaugurated

Kathmandu, January 6:
The CPN UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today inaugurated Manamohan Memorial Hospital, which is being operated under cooperative set-up.
Dubbed as ‘hospital for the poor’, the hospital now has 100 beds with 24-hour emergency, OPD and indoor services of all sorts. The hospital has a separate ward for senior citizens where services are provided free of cost.
The hospital aims to add 900 beds in five years. “We have plan to develop it as a medical institute and research centre in the future,” said Rajendra Pandey, Minister for Local Development and chairman of the hospital.
