Kathmandu, February 21:

A group shot at Kaji Sherpa, of Solukhumbu, at Chudaldevi today, police said. Sherpa was coming out of the house owned by Trilochan Upreti when he was shot at.

Sherpa was injured in the armpit, police said, adding that he has been admitted to the TU Teaching Hospital. “Though he is out of danger, he cannot speak well,” police said.

“As we couldn’t get a detailed account about the incident from Sherpa, we can’t tell more about it,” said Dhak Bahadur Karki, SP at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

Police suspect the hand of Deepak Manange, who was recently released from the Dillibazaar jail. “Sherpa himself is a gang leader,” Karki added.
