JTMM invited for talks
KATHMANDU: Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has urged the Jwala Singh and Goit factions of the JTMM to come for talks, saying the warrant on the leadership of the JTMM will be revoked and cases filed against them withdrawn. Sitaula said this at a press conference organised at the Home Ministry on Friday. He said the government has decided to cancel all restrictions placed on the Morcha leadership and ensure their safety while calling the two factions for dialogue as requested by the Talks Team constituted by the government under the coordination of Minister Mahantha Thakur. — RSS
Belbari probe panel
KATHMANDU: The meeting of the parliament constituted a parliamentary investigation committee on Friday to investigate the gruesome Belbari killing and take action against the culprits. The meeting approved the proposal seeking that the parliament constitute an investigation committee to probe the murder. — RSS
Maoists’ stance
KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist) has said any weapons found other than those registered would be automatically categorised as illegal in accordance with the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the Agreement on the Monitoring of the Arms and Armies. The statement was made in the report presented on Thursday on the first phase of the registration of arms and combatants of the Maoist Army by the JMCC to the government and the Maoist leadership. — RSS
DV victims’ warning
Kathmandu: The Diversity Visa (DV) victims said on Friday that the people victimised by the American visa policy will form a unified group against the US if the government and the American embassy continue ignoring their demands. Ghanshyam Basyal, the protest coordinator of the DV Victims’ Central Struggling Committee, told this daily: “We hope our unified campaign will make the concerned address our problems.”— HNS
