Rajbiraj, March 20:
Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav said today commitment from all sectors is essential to make the constituent assembly (CA) election successful.
Speaking at a press meet organised today in the Saptari District Election Office at Rajbiraj, Yadav said: “The CA election will pave the way to resolve conflict but repeated instances of strikes will hamper conduction of free and fair polls.”
Dr Yadav further said the CA election will be possible only if the issues raised by different agitating parties and groups are solved through dialogue, on time.
“The EC is doing its best to ensure free, fair and timely CA polls,” he said.
He further said that the EC has aimed to mobilise both national and international monitors in the CA election and homework for this purpose is underway.
The EC has prioritised voters’ awareness and education and is planning to launch different activities to this end, he said.
He also said that the CA code of conduct would be in force from the day the date to CA poll is announced.
The Election Commission has included, in the CA code of conduct, a provision which prohibits using any child in any election-related activity, he said.
