Demos against Mahato’s remark

Sarlahi, May 13:
The Chure Bhawar Region Unity Society (CBUS) today staged demonstrations at two places on the Mahendra Highway to protest against a public remark by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Rajendra Mahato.
“The demonstrations were organised to protest Minister Mahato’s remarks at a press conference held by Nepal Journalists’ Forum in Birgunj yesterday where said that the Chure Bhawar Region Unity Society is the continuation of 238-year-long rule by the rulers from the hill region,” CBUS president, Keshav Mainali, said.
In the protest demonstrations at Sukhepokhari Chowk of Hariwan VDC-6 and Martyr Eagle Bahadur Jarghamagar Chowk of Lalbandi VDC, both located in Sarlahi constituency no. 2, traffic was disrupted for an hour from 10:00 till 11:00 am and the minister’s effigy torched. He was elected to the House of Representatives from constituency no. 2.
According to our Rautahat correspondent, residents of Chandranigahpur also burnt Minister Mahato’s effigy in protest against his remark.
Traffic was disrupted on the Mahendra Highway for half an hour. They also demanded the minister’s resignation.
